Day 1

On your first day in Dubai, skip the tourist-laden Burj Khalifa and spend your day doing something that most people have never done before. That’s why this day is full of surprising places and authentic Dubai elements.

Morning

The Farm, Al Barari

  • Location: Al Barari, Dubai
  • Open: 7:30 am to 10:30 pm
  • Price: Free to enter, prices medium

Unwind from your trip in a green, lush setting in Al Barari. It’s an oasis in the middle of the desert, a tranquil place designed to offer shelter from the heat, and city bustle. And in there, you’ll find The Farm, a restaurant set against an impressive backdrop of soothing water and murmuring plant world.

It’s also a social hub and a culinary experience where you can get healthy food from all around the world.

It often hosts events like business meetings, important talks, birthday parties, arts and crafts classes, and many other affairs. But the most unexpected thing about it is how out-of-this-world it seems to have such a prosperous garden and water elements in the heat of Dubai.

Starting off your Dubai escape here is the perfect way to introduce you to the variety of what this city has to offer.

23-carat gold ice-cream

  • Location: Scoopi Cafe, Jumeriah Beach Road, Dubai
  • Open: 1 pm to 1 am
  • Price: AED 3000

After your lovely breakfast – or brunch – in The Farm, why not stop for an ice-cream. But not just any ice-cream. You see, Dubai is the home to many world records, but none is as sweet as that of the world’s most expensive ice-cream.

This ice-cream even sounds extravagant, carrying the name The Black Diamond. It’s made with vanilla bean ice cream, saffron, and extremely rare black truffles. Of course, all of that is topped off with 23-carat gold, all edible and tasty.

Naturally, you can’t serve an ice-cream like that in just any bowl or carton container. This particular treat is served in Versace bowl, and you get to eat it with a Versace spoon. After you’re done, you get to keep them.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you can’t miss if you can afford it. Of course, the shop warrants some attention even without the gold ice-cream, since their regular ice-creams are just as delicious and quite a bit cheaper.

Afternoon

Limousine ride

  • Location: Office No 107, First Floor, Al Naboodah Building, Dubai
  • Open: Always
  • Price: AED 60 per hour

Experience Dubai in an extravagant way – by renting a limousine and seeing all the best sights while sipping on premium champagne. Take your friends and family on an amazing ride through one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

You can choose from many different colors, styles, looks, sizes, and so on. You can even get a pink or a gold limo if you’re looking for something really unique.

Drive around the city for hours, just enjoying the music and your drinks or stop by famous sights, go shopping, etc. Your limo will be driven by a professional driver, and you’ll have access to all sorts of elements, depending on what you want and need.

This is definitely one of the most extravagant ways to go around the city. You can also rent a supercar and drive it on your own, usually in the same place where you rent your limo, but the fact is that nothing beats drinking champagne while riding in a car with an open top and not having to worry about rules for a while.

Dinner in the sky

  • Location: Al Sufoh, Skydive, Al Seyahi St, Dubai
  • Open: 6:30 pm, 8 pm, 9:30 pm
  • Price: Starting at AED 760

Did you know that you could eat 50 meters above the ground in Dubai? Yes, you definitely can. This is a unique experience that everyone should try at least once. But how does it work?

Well, your table will be suspended on a crane high above the ground for about 90 minutes while your chefs prepare the food, and you feast on a three-course meal. You’ll get to see all the best attractions in Dubai in an original way. Bring a camera too because there will be many great opportunities to snap a photo.

This is a shared experience, and you’ll be dining with around 20 other people. And if you get a bit scared, you can count on a helper that will assist you in order to keep you safe during your dinner. The table also rotates slowly while you eat, so you’ll get to see the city from different angles.

Evening

The three themed parks are Motiongate Dubai, which features rides and characters from some of the biggest blockbusters in the world, the Bollywood park dedicated to Bollywood movies and Legoland Dubai.

You could spend your entire day here and still not see it all, but the evenings are even better. The park lights up, and the entertainment is truly terrific, with a bunch of things to try.

One of the best parts – and the classiest by far – in Dubai Parks and Resorts is the Riverdale area where you can eat, drink and have live entertainment make your evening even better than it was before. This is also a shopping area.

If you step out of it a bit further, you can learn a lot about movies and get even more fun. Of course, if you’re traveling with children, they will adore Legoland. You can also stay here overnight if you book a room on time if you want to explore the park in the morning or during the day.

The staff and service are impeccable, the food is delicious, and there’s plenty of fun for people of all ages and interests.
